Hollingworth Manor

An 80-panel in-roof solar system for a manor house whose electricity demand was commercial in scale.

Hollingworth Manor overlooks Hollingworth Lake near Rochdale. A previous commercial client recommended us to the owners when they wanted solar PV to cut their electricity bills.

Our survey showed the main roof profile was unsuitable, so we designed an array across three elevations of the property's extensions. The client chose Viridian 405W in-roof panels, among the neatest on the market. We specified a Solis 25kW inverter and Tigo optimisers to recover output lost to shading.

The house drew as much power as a restaurant. We had Electricity North West remove the fuse casing to confirm the true supply size, and worked out how the existing backup generator would interact with the new system. Along the way we fixed earlier water ingress and replaced short slates with longer ones.

Scope of works
  • Three-elevation in-roof design
  • 80 × Viridian 405W panels
  • Solis 25kW inverter with Tigo optimisers
  • Supply verification with Electricity North West
  • Generator integration
  • Re-slating and water-ingress repairs

“The workmanship has been first class and they went above and beyond to ensure the job went as smoothly as possible.”
